You First Two Years in Youth Ministry by Doug Fields

Your First Two Years in Youth Ministry was written by Doug Fields. Doug Fields is currently the Executive Director of HomeWord’s Center for Youth/Family at Azusa Pacific University, the co-founder of, and the author of more than 50 books. He has also been a part of youth ministry for more than 30 years.

In Field’s book, Your First Two Years in Youth Ministry, he takes his years of experience and shares his insights to help new, current, and up and coming youth pastors, leaders and volunteers to be successful in youth ministry.

I found this book to be very helpful as I hoped to work in full-time in ministry. There are useful tools to help you manage your time, staff, and students. It became clear that Fields has tried and failed, and has found these tools to help anyone easily adapt into their current situation in ministry.

If you are currently involved in youth ministry, or looking to work or volunteer in it, then I highly recommend picking up a copy of this book.
